1937-D Texas Centennial Half Dollar – NGC MS67+ – CAC Verified
This 1937-D Texas Centennial Half Dollar is graded MS67+ by NGC and features a CAC green sticker, confirming its premium quality for the grade. Struck at the Denver Mint to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Texas independence, the coin displays sharp strike detail, smooth reflective fields, and outstanding eye appeal.
The obverse displays a large star behind an eagle, while the reverse includes portraits of Sam Houston and Stephen F. Austin, flanked by the six flags of Texas.
One can expect collector interest in Texas commemoratives to steadily increase as we approach the Texas Bicentennial in 2036.
All three of the 1937 silver commemorative issues have similar mintages. But for some reason, the 1937 Denver is more plentiful in Gem MS65 and Superb Gem MS66 or better condition. The typical 1937-D Texas has very attractive frosty luster. Circulated examples are virtually non-existent as almost all of the orignal mintage was saved at the time of issue.
