1908 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle – No Motto – PCGS MS62 – Rattler Holder

This 1908 $20 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle is graded MS62 by PCGS and comes housed in a Generation 1 "Rattler" holder, the very first style of PCGS slab issued in the 1980s. Coins in Rattler holders are increasingly collectible due to their vintage appeal and the perception that many are undergraded by today's standards.

This is the No Motto variety, struck only in early 1908 before "In God We Trust" was added later that same year. It remains a one-year subtype and a key piece for collectors building a full Saint-Gaudens set or type collection.

Designed by Augustus Saint-Gaudens, the coin features Liberty striding forward with a torch and olive branch, while the reverse displays a soaring eagle above the rising sun. This example has clean fields, vibrant luster, and strong eye appeal for the grade.
